Omachi Dam的点评
点评：Peak autumn foliage at Omachi Dam is gorgeous!
On the weekday morning of my visit, there are only a few visitors at the dam. Atmosphere is tranquil – quiet, cool and crisp air, occasional chirpings of birds, and colourful hills all around. Upstream, there's snow-peaked Hida Mountains in the background and downstream, Omachi township stands in the distance. Time seems to stand still.
At one corner on the dam wall, one stands directly above a massive discharge of water into the Takase River.
There's an open area at the base of the dam for family picnics and where one can watch the discharge of water from below.
Two minutes' drive up from the entrance of the dam, there's a small and unkempt Omachi Dam Observatory Point at the side of the highway. Opposite this vantage point, there's a large car-park (labelled as “Omachi Dam Kotarohiroba Parking Lot” on Google Map) and a very nice open area with beautiful foliage.
For someone who is not driving, there's a “community bus No.4” serving the villages (including Omachi Onsenkyo village) between Omachi and the entrance of Takase Gorge with 4 daily trips. From the last stop (Omachi Energy Museum) on this route, it's just a 20-minutes scenic walk straight towards the towering dam wall and then another steep road climb to the entrance of the dam. The community bus-stop at JR Shinano-Omachi station is located directly in front of the baggage-collection point (when one can send/drop baggage in the Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route).

如果您不开车，可以乘坐“4路社区巴士”，该巴士每天有4班，往返于大町和高濑峡谷入口之间，途经包括大町温泉乡在内的各个村庄。从巴士的终点站（大町能源博物馆）出发，只需步行20分钟即可欣赏到壮丽的坝体，之后再沿着陡峭的山路攀登即可到达水坝入口。JR信浓大町站的社区巴士站就位于行李寄存处（立山黑部阿尔卑斯山脉路线的行李寄存点）正前方。
