点评:Beamish is honestly one of the most underrated attractions in the entire UK. We were absolutely amazed by it. The value is unbelievable — one ticket gives you unlimited visits for a whole year, and you’ll definitely want to go back. We stayed nearby for the weekend and thought we’d just visit for the day, but after spending all of Friday from opening to closing and only seeing a third of it, we couldn’t wait to return on Saturday. What makes Beamish truly exceptional is how alive it feels. The whole place takes you on a journey from the 1900s right through to the 1960s, and every single person working there is fully in character. It’s like stepping straight into history — not just looking at it, but living it. The attention to detail is incredible. We had delicious 1930s fish and chips wrapped in newspaper, bought bread, cakes, sweets and cheese from the old shops, enjoyed drinks in both historic pubs, rode vintage buses and trams, went on the funfair — and even went down the coal mine (the Pit), which added another fascinating layer to the experience.Beamish is far better than we ever expected. It deserves so much more recognition — it’s a truly exceptional place that we massively underestimated. If you’re thinking about visiting, go. You will not be disappointed.
