点评:The most amazing place. I had no idea how large the site was. But with trams and buses going round all day you could keep walking to a minimum. There was an accessible bus too for those with wheelchairs. The different settings were really impressive. It didn’t feel like a museum as each cottage or house was furnished according to the period but felt as if the owner or tenant had just stepped out. There were loads of volunteers in costume who were knowledgeable, friendly and brought the place to life. Don’t miss the fish and chips in the colliery village. Definitely worth the queue. We enjoyed watching sweets being made in the confectioners, the 1820s area was particularly lovely, the 1950’s town brought back many memories of childhood. There was so much to see - we spent three days there. We stayed at the nearby Beamish Hall Hotel and had no trouble getting Ubers to pick us up.
