点评:My mom and I did a weekend trip to Nashville at the end of February. We didn't plan on going to the art museum, but were walking by it and saw an advertisement on the side of the building for a new exhibit of Impressionist art from the Dallas Museum of Art. We went to the museum the next day and spent around an hour and a half there. (I could have spent at least another hour looking at all the art and reading all the plaques.) In addition to the the Impressionist exhibit on the second floor of the museum, there was an exhibit on Tennessee-based women artists on the first floor. The pieces were amazing and/or interesting to look at and included multimedia pieces.
The museum had a guided tour that had just started when my mom and I arrived at the museum and we were told we were welcome to join them. The second floor also had a big area for what appeared to be children's art activities including something that looked like a giant light-brite. (I could be wrong about it being a giant light-brite, as my mom and I did not enter the kid area, since we did not have children with us, but it looked like a popular area for kids and parents/guardians.)
The museum also had large bathrooms (no lines!) and a cafe area that served drinks (including coffee), pastries, and light sandwiches. The cafe was a nice relaxing area with giant windows and some of the sandwiches were inspired by the art in the museum.
I think it cost around $20 for a single adult ticket, but there were discounts for students and seniors. (There were possibly more discounts that I don't remember, but the admission fees are listed on the museum's website.) I would definitely check out the museum again next time I go to Nashville. Also the building is a remodeled Post Office which they have displays about on the 1st floor.
