Fantastic Irish Castle, a gem just outside Dublin City

点评：We found a wealth of Irish history on a tour of Malahide Castle and its grounds. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable of more than 800 years of castle history and its owners, the Talbot family. The castle is perfectly preserved with furnished rooms containing many period pieces from its long history. Our tour guide, Mark has fantastic with stories, legends, and even a ghost story of Puck that today still haunts the castle. A fabulous hour tour at a minimal cost.
In addition to the tour of the castle you can enjoy the gardens and the butterfly house where the butterflies fly among the hot house plants. The grounds of the castle are plush with a botanical array of trees and plants. There’s are adjacent
shops where you can have something to eat as well as buy souvenirs of your trip to Ireland.
The town of Malahide sits on the Irish Sea and dates back to the 10th century. You can get there from the center of Dublin City in less than an hour using the DART train system, which you can get in several train stations. If you have the time and want to see and learn some of Ireland’s rich history, a trip to Malahide and the castle is well worth it.
You can easily spend an entire day in Malahide, including the castle or just half a day and it’s well worth it. I highly recommend
