点评:It was our first time visiting Potomac Point, and we loved the food, wine, ambiance, and service.
Most wineries in the region have very limited food options—typically prepackaged charcuterie or maybe a food truck—but Potomac Point offers a wonderful restaurant with a full menu. The crab cakes, steak and eggs, and baked Brie were all excellent, and I look forward to exploring more of their menu.
We visit Maryland and Virginia wineries mainly for the experience and do not expect to find outstanding wines. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that Potomac Point actually produces some excellent wines. We did our tasting with Aaron, one of their winemakers, who is exceptionally knowledgeable about his craft. We would highly recommend their Albariño, Tannat, Petit Verdot, and Norton (a grape native to Virginia).
The venue has a very European feel, and the owners did a fantastic job with the design and buildout. There is a large ballroom for events, as well as several heated tents or yurts for smaller gatherings. We visited in January, but we will definitely be back in the spring to enjoy the patio and terrace.
Finally, you can tell that the staff truly care about their work and take pride in the product. We were given a surprise tour of the facility, and it was fascinating to see what happens behind the scenes.
