点评:The Great Hall itself is very interesting and we spent a good 2 hours looking around the hall, garden, various sculptures and artefacts, and of course the Round Table itself. We heard a talk by a member of staff about the hall and table which was great. Very reasonable price to get in, and it included the West Gate which has an amazing wooden ceiling (the guy on the desk was very knowledgeable and answered lots of questions) and a view from the roof down one of the oldest high streets in the World.
The café in the Great Hall has limited options, but the food was very good, reasonably priced, and came quickly. The gift shop is excellent, and I bought several Christmas presents.
Now the negative bit - we had bought timed tickets for the Great Hall, and found quite a large queue when we arrived. We had to wait for at least 10 minutes to get in, which I found very tricky as my balance is poor, and we had to stand on a wooden ramp. The man wasn't just selling a ticket, but offering various ticket options to people, taking their e-mail addresses, and asking about Gift Aid. While we waited at least 8 people (3 groups) arrived, stood in the queue, and then left again as the wait was too long. A woman then arrived and I thought she would open a second till, but then the first guy left on his break, and we had to wait again while she logged-on. She should have arrived before her shift and been logged-on and ready to go on time.
When we finally got to the till, it took 30 seconds, "May I scan your code? Thankyou, have a nice day"! My husband always buys a guide book, but this time he didn't as he said "They've wasted my time for too long". I think he was concerned about me as he knows I can't stand still easily without falling over.
Sort out your Great Hall "public-facing" staff! The staff in the café/shop and West Gate were excellent. Without this delay I would have given you 5 stars, and you also lost income with people getting bored and leaving.
