点评：This is a little gem hidden in the beautiful countryside. Would 100% recommend especially if you are going to Hadrian's Wall. We visited as a family with grandparents and a 5 year old in tow and there was something for everyone. Children are allowed to explore and climb on things look in holes and they have replica fort they would pretend on. The guided tours which are free were excellent full of lots of information in a way everyone could understand and pitched at all levels even for the kids. Guides were very entertaining and happy to answer all the random questions children come out with that adults would love to ask but kept quiet! There is a lovely museum but it is down a very steep hill but they have well placed bench’s for those who need a rest on the way back up! Also don’t miss the cafe as they have lovely cakes and soups to refuel you with.
