Blown away by the wind (and also this amazing fort!)

点评：We were staying in the nearby area & thought to have a visit to vindolanda & very pleased we did.
The whole area is very striking, everyone there are undertaking a huge job to preserve and to excavate more of the fort. The staff are incredibly friendly, from the entrance staff, to the tour guides, to the museum folk & the cafe servers.
We happened to go when there was a free guided tour on (11am & 1pm I believe) and due to an off peak blustery day it turned into a private tour! Great stuff :)
We were welcomed warmly by our tour guide for the day- Paul, the best way to describe Paul is alike to a kid in a candy shop when it comes to vindolanda & archeological sites such as this!
He was absolutely brilliant, constant excitement throughout & it really did get you as excited just looking at a Roman bathhouse or loo!
He really helped to get your imagination running wild in a way we could never have walk-ing around this site alone & really did make our visit! So thank you, Paul!
After walking around the site, head toward the museum & you will pass one of the most tranquil areas I’ve ever seen, lovely if you have a sunny day to eat & relax!
The museum is brilliant, the finds are great! From the everyday things to the flashy expensive finds!
Be sure to sit and have a DELUX hot chocolate in the cafe at then end, it’s ends off a great day in a perfect way !

博物馆非常棒，藏品令人赞叹！从日常用品到华丽昂贵的珍品，应有尽有！
参观结束后，一定要在咖啡馆里坐下来，品尝一杯豪华热巧克力，为美好的一天画上完美的句号！
