点评:My husband visited this place 30 years ago and loved it.
The directions to get to the camp are easy and a good welcome at the entrance. If you are staying near Pickering it’s a great outing.
Cost was £20 each.
The huts cover every aspect of WW2. It’s a fantastic museum. You can while away a whole day here as there is so much to see, it’s interactive too so good for kids. Each of the 23 huts has a different theme and is a mini museum. It starts with the rise of Hitler in Hut 1 and finishes with post WW2 conflicts in the final hut. You can go round in order- we did but you can pick the huts you want to see.
The cafe was fine. The gift shop was disappointing. It lacked really good souvenirs and could have had a broader range of items.
I love history and anyone interested in WW2 should come to this museum. It’s an ex POW camp and turning it into a museum is a great idea.
There was so much information here- almost too much. You can’t read everything but it was fascinating.
If you are interested in WW2 definitely worth a visit.
