点评:There are a lot of negative reviews about the Airbus tour at Blagnac, near Toulouse. I would like to paint a different picture of the tour, which we recently completed.
The issue is with corporate confidentiality and it does sound like it’s different to the Boeing tour in Seattle.
Our tour guide, Ellen (spelling?) was very knowledgeable and took us from the visitors centre to the main observation centre and we got to see the factory in process. What you see depends on the day and stage they are up to.
While there are a few videos, the guide really had a lot of knowledge which added to the experience. We also got to see the A400M. I used to work for Airbus in Bristol and had worked on the A400M. It was great to see the plane in all its glory. You will appreciate that the organisation takes a lot of time to develop jigs and fixtures to help protect its employees while undertaking processes as part of building the aircraft. The same applies to the visitors.
The gift shop is there at the end of the tour. It’s similar the one at Filton. Boy have the process of the model planes gone up! We also managed to see the majority of Belugas at Blagnac, nice accolade for the plane spotters.
We did not have time to go the adjoining museum. All in all, it’s worth it. Lastly, the booking process is a little painful. The tours are only made live when 2 weeks before and this can be an issue when making a booking from across the world.
