点评：If you are visiting Lyon, you simply cannot miss Parc de la Tête d'Or. It is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful urban spaces I have ever encountered. The first thing that strikes you is the sheer incredible size and scale of the park. At over 117 hectares, it feels like a massive, lush escape from the city streets.
What we loved most was the atmosphere; there is so much ample space that locals and tourists mingle effortlessly without ever feeling crowded. Whether you are seeing joggers on the trails, families picnicking on the sprawling lawns, or couples taking boats out on the serene 17-hectare lake, there is a sense of shared peace that is rare for such a popular destination.
The highlight of our trip, however, was a total surprise. We stumbled upon the Zoo de Lyon located right inside the park and were shocked to find it is completely FREE to enter. For a free attraction, the quality is world-class. The animal enclosures are amazing, especially the "African Plain" where giraffes, zebras, and lemurs roam in a massive, beautifully landscaped habitat. It is clear that conservation and animal welfare are top priorities here.
Whether you want to admire the 30,000 roses in the botanical gardens or just find a quiet spot under a century-old tree, this park is a masterclass in urban design. It’s a generous gift from the city of Lyon to its people—and its visitors!
