Beyer Clock and Watch Museum的点评
点评：It is unecessary to purchase your admission tickets in advance online. You may purchase them on the day of your actual visit. It is located in the basement level of the corner Beyerchronometrie Store building on Bahnhofstrasse.
If you are a senior, age 65 and up, be sure to inform the clerk as you are given a 3 CHF discount per person. If you have any large bags and/or backpack, you will be asked to keep them stored in the adjoining locker storage area before heading out to visit the two museum rooms. Staff were very helpful and came around to ask if we had any questions while we were reading the exhibits. Also, pictures are allowed without the use of a flash.
The Beyer Clock & Watch Museum is a great place to stop and visit for anyone who is interested to learn abou the history of telling time as there are plenty of items on display all the way from the Egyptian times with the sundial to the present time in showing how humans have developed methods how to tell time. You will be given a tablet to follow along in with each object on display, describing it in English. You may skip around the exhibits as sometimes it gets crowded with several people listening /looking at the same display item as the same time.
There are only two main rooms to visit but they are full of unique time related items to see and appreciate. Everything from a small compass to pocket watches all the way to our modern watches are on display. Definitely worth a stop for around 1 1/2- 2 hours if you have the opportunity. Make sure you plan your visit around there limited hours of operation-- Monday -Friday 2p.m.-6p.m. only.
