Wimpole Estate的点评
点评：My son has written the following review for his Bronze Arts award:
I really enjoyed my visit to Wimpole estate. First of all we visited the farm area with lots of farm animals like pigs and horses. There was lots of old machinery that they used to use in the field. Personally my favourite part of the farm was probably the horses because they had several different breeds and there was a room in which you can see the anatomy of a horse.
Afterwards, when we visited the big house on the estate and went inside, we saw lots of large and interesting paintings. The Architect who designed many of the rooms was called John Soane. He designed some of the ceilings (which were beautiful) and just the general architecture inside and outside the house.
Lastly, we went to the walled gardens and though it was October and not the best time of year to see the flowers and shrubs. We still enjoyed looking at how the garden was laid out and designed. My favourite part of the walled gardens was probably seeing all the fruit that was in season like apples and pears.
I visited Wimpole estate as part of a trip in a course called the bronze arts award. The goal of visiting was to view the architecture and artwork of the house.
My favourite part of the visit was in the farm where we saw the anatomy of horses and just seeing the horses. My favourite piece of art was the ceiling in the yellow drawing room with the chandelier in the middle. I liked this because of the way it was laid out and I just really liked the architecture in the room.
I would recommend visiting if you’re interested in seeing a diverse range of architecture, paintings and old books. At Wimpole I learnt lots because of the infinite (felt like it) amount of information boards which helps you to learn about your surroundings.
