Westonbirt Arboretum的点评
点评：Westonbirt always does funky things around Halloween / Christmas time but this year was beyond belief.
The lights and Christmas experience was just utterly spellbounding and, without exaggeration, the best I've been to. Not just for Westonbirt but anywhere. There was a large group of us, some of us with kids, and we were all enraptured as each section tried to outdo the next. The cold air felt warm. Everybody around looked happy and charmed.
Pictures can't do the mystique of the thing justice. They have a customer for next year's celebration for sure.
However, nothing is perfect and we were all surprised by one thing which threatened to mar it. The guy charging the marshmallows, it was £7 for three tiny things to toast. There's pricey and there's an extortionate rip off. We went to a similar celebration elsewhere with similar toasting and sticky station and they were £3.50 for three. That's still overpriced actually, but perfectly reasonable for the experience. If charging that high was a Westonbirt decision, please rethink the charge for toasting them for next year from PoV of being kinder to your patrons with children as it's just not affordable after price of entry and blowing £70 on the also overpriced burger vans. If you have two kids that's another £14 for six marshmallows with a bit of sprinkles and toasting. That was the only thing I could fault though.
I don't want to be unjolly about it all though. It was still magical, romantic, fun, intruiging and wonderful and hopefully people upload pictures to do it justice. If you get a chance, please, please go. And if you get a chance to just see plain vanilla Westonbirt, do. It does a great job and it's a perfect walking destination.
