点评:The Petra Museum was a really nice addition to our visit and well worth stopping by either before or after exploring the site. Located right near the entrance, it’s an easy one to fit in and adds a lot of context to everything you’ve just seen—or are about to see.
The museum is modern, well laid out, and easy to follow, with exhibits that cover Petra’s history, the Nabataeans, and how this incredible city functioned as a major trading hub. Seeing artefacts up close—pottery, tools, carvings, and inscriptions—helps bring the ruins to life and makes you appreciate just how advanced the Nabataeans were.
We liked that it never felt overwhelming. You can take it at your own pace, and it’s also a welcome break from the heat after a long walk through the Siq. For us, it really helped connect the dots between Petra’s famous monuments and the everyday lives of the people who once lived there.
If you’ve got the time, don’t skip the Petra Museum. It’s a great way to round out your visit and adds a deeper understanding to one of the world’s most incredible ancient cities.
