点评：Once parked the extensive 1,760 acre estate surrounding Felbrigg Hall provides opportunities to visit St. Margaret’s Church, find the Lake and discover the Ice House in the Great Wood. Where the estate opens from dawn-to-dusk, the Hall itself does not open until midday (or at all on Thursdays and Fridays) which was bitterly disappointing for some visitors. Venturing out into the estate on lengthy walks provides an alternative option before midday. As previous reviewers have mentioned, the lack of really good footpath signage makes finding locations very difficult at Felbrigg. How incredibly frustrating therefore to discover that free walking route maps are available … but only when the ticket office opens to access the Hall from midday onwards! An estate map was not offered with Hall tickets, and despite politely asking our request received very little enthusiasm from the person on duty.
National Trust take note: Guide route information is a vitally important factor to visitors supporting your very large estates … and this could have so easily been a 5-star review.
