点评:Visited on Wednesday, 08th April 2026, on a solo visit to this lovely museum, split over 5 halls detailing the history by models & manufacturers, of the British Motorcycle industry, before in Hall 5 British Motorsport Bikes. Limited parking, but it is free. Very quiet when I visited, which meant unhindered views of all the bikes. Each hall has a board on entry detailing what manufacturers' bike examples are in that hall, and there are interactive videos which detail the history of these manufacturers. My only gripes are that the ropes in front of the bikes spoil photos, and more of an issue is that the display boards for each bike have so much detail in them that you have to go on your knees to get down to read them, as the said boards are very low/writing is so small. There is a small shop and café area, as well as a magnificent display of the rider Geoff Duke's medals and history. Considering how great Geoff Duke's achievements are, it felt quite a small display stuck on a side wall. I think there is scope to display the bikes in a different style/angle, and this is only really realised in the last hall, where the motorsport examples are housed. Entry/exist includes examples of WLSR holders as well as attempts and is shared with the National Conference Centre. The significance of the models would benefit from being highlighted more, as the displays tend to blend into each other. This site could do with some lottery funding to give it a refresh.
