点评:We decided at the last minute to go to the Boardwalk Aquarium to fill some downtime while in Branson. Upon entering, you are pushed into a photo opp that you have to go through before even entering the Aquarium portion. I hate these photo opps and this one felt super awkward. First off, it is right inside the front door, and it was incredibly noisy with all the little ones running around and screaming at the top of their lungs so we couldn’t even hear half of what the girl was saying. She didn’t even wait for us to really even collect ourselves before snapping the pictures and most of the ones she took was us with our mouths hanging open because we were in mid-sentence asking her to repeat what she said because we couldn’t hear her. No big deal, I had no intentions on purchasing the photos anyway because those kinds usually aren’t that great anyway. In all fairness, she did offer to retake them when we went to look at them and saw how awful they were, but we opted not to. It’s just annoying that you aren’t really given an option to bypass that part as you have to go through it to get into the aquarium. The displays were beautiful and the place is super cute, nice and colorful and eye catching. All of the tanks seem very clean and spacious, and the fish seem very well cared for. I got some really pretty photos, and the outside is absolutely adorable because it looks like a giant octopus made from cut mirrors. However, I can’t say that we would go back. I’ve been to Sea World and the Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, and this one was definitely a very smaller scaled aquarium compared to the one in Gatlinburg. They have some touch tanks where you can touch sting rays, a shark (which stayed just out of reach) and some starfish, but there were so many little ones hovering around the tanks that we opted to bypass that part. They do have a glowing jellyfish display that was really cool! I am fascinated with sharks and stood at the underwater viewing area for well over 15 minutes trying to get a glimpse at the shark(s) they had in the tank, but they never came anywhere near the glass which was a bit disappointing because I really wanted a picture. The movie simulator ride was super fun and probably the highlight for me. Was it the best aquarium I’ve been to? No. But all in all, I would say go if you haven’t been, at least once if you like that sort of thing and have little ones. I feel it is definitely geared more toward children than adults with no kids. As adults, we wouldn’t go back again after seeing it once. It is a one and done for us. But little ones will most likely really enjoy it. For me and my mom, we thought it was a little pricey for what it was. They do have a discount if you go during the twilight/discount hour so you don’t have to pay full price.
