点评:£6 admission is a fair ask given the popularity of the village as a visitor attraction. Staff were appropriately welcoming. Mostly information boards not much artifacts . I spent about an hour or so because I read these boards thoroughly.. Not crowded in a small museum but consistent numbers including children. Little atmosphere tbh which surprised me given the history it exists primarily to archive. Focus appears to be upon visiting children which might explain lack of atmosphere. Much made of the bubonic plague carrying rats (even though it's not certain this was the root of this plague) and plushy rats sold in the shop as well as adorning the sole fascinating artifact (a wooden tressle owned by Reverend Mompesson and his wife Katherine) which appalled me actually. Little made of the extraordinary sacrifice that a whole village made to spare their neighbours. Disappointing overall and aspects that I found disrespectful. I'm not sure the horrible 'histories approach' serves this particular story well and it certainly doesn't serve the memory of those who suffered so and sacrificed so much.
