Bolsover Castle的点评
点评：Normally I love a castle but this was really disappointing I’m sad to say. The majority of the rooms were empty or had no information such as this used to be a bedroom, wine room ect, a drawing of what used to be there you know. Some rooms had gorgeous paintings on the cellings but I couldn’t tell you who painted them or why there. The flow wasn’t great either I had to go round a few times could don with a few more signs. They had a Christmas display which was nice but again really random what rooms they were in There was more info about Christmas then the castle and the garden had more plaques than inside.
Saying that there was info in the exhibition centre but why not have that in the castle? The exhibition centre wasn’t clearly signposted either I just happened to go in on the way out.
There was a 10k run on the day which wasn’t ideal as the castle grounds had the runners so wasn’t very atmospheric and a few road closures but as a non local was hard to get too!
Such a shame as gorgeous building but compared to others in the area needs better curation.
