Segedunum Roman Fort and Museum的点评
点评：We really enjoyed our visit to the remains of the Roman fort of Segedunum and the museum. There is an outside section with the outline remains of the fort, and a viewing tower which really helps to give a sense of the overall layout. Don’t miss the separate section over the road that has an example of what Hadrian’s Wall looked like when it was in use. The Bath House was closed when we visited.
The Museum has lots of interesting displays about life in Roman times, and information is presented in a clear and engaging way.
It wasn’t very busy for a Sunday with good weather, which is a pity for the site as it is well worth a visit if you are interested in history. An adult entry ticket is £7.50 at the time of writing, which we thought was good value. It is easy to get to as well, being only a few minutes’ walk from Wallsend Metro station.
