Why oh why did I not read these reviews before booking Awesome Campers?

点评：We rented from the Sydney office in the pouring rain so we were not shown anything about the vehicle which had 235,000 kms on it!
It broke down after leaving Byron Bay leaving us overnight waiting for a part which meant that we missed some of our prepaid camp sites on our journey. Awesome said they would refund the money we had lost also money we paid out for oil and a funnel. All fine you might say. There were other issues with the van but we coped and returned it in Melbourne to meet the rudest man we met in the whole trip. That’s another story but the real reason for my story is that I wrote a review when I handed the van back detailing ( only) some of the issues. Awesome is now saying they will NOT refund AUSD408 ( a goodwill gesture they say) to me until I remove my review and sign a release deed form saying I cannot talk about them ever again! I think this is surely not allowed and have written to the ACCC asking for advice but no reply yet. I cannot recommend this company in any shape or form. Unless you are fine with an old unserviced properly vehicle with many problems do not do it. I was told that if they had known my age they would have not rented to me! As a previous commenter has said we had to send all our information beforehand electronically which was tedious. Be very very careful if you do choose to rent from Awesome campers.
