点评:This is a lovely and well-presented museum, set within an old combined police and fire service building, which adds real character to the visit. The exhibits provide a broad and interesting overview of the emergency services, including policing, fire and rescue, ambulance services, the RSPCA, and the Coastguard.
The museum is informative and clearly curated with care; however, one area where it could be further improved is the inclusion of more contemporary exhibits. From a policing perspective, the only items still recognisably in use today are the rigid handcuffs and the expandable baton, and even then I believe the baton on display is no longer issued by any UK police force.
The addition of modern artefacts, such as a current police vehicle or a modern fire engine, would significantly enhance the experience and help better connect historical exhibits with present-day emergency services. Overall, this is an engaging museum that would benefit from a stronger representation of modern operational equipment.
