Just as interesting as Edinburgh Castle
克雷格米勒城堡的点评
点评：I’m a little surprised that Craigmillar is ranked higher. It’s such an interesting castle and it’s fun to get to wander around freely.
I took the bus from Princes Street, which took maybe thirty minutes. It was about 15 minute walk from the bus stop to the castle. Half of the walk is through a park which is pretty and has excellent views of Craigmillar Castle.
There’s a small gift shop right inside the castle property. This is where you also buy the entrance tickets. It’s then about a five minute walk to the castle property.
It was incredible walking around inside the castle and the courtyard. There are no tour guides and I didn’t see any employees. You can walk up stairs (steep and narrow so watch your footing, some of them do have rails or ropes to hang on to), go inside rooms, and even down to the dungeon!
The views from the top are very nice. You can also walk around the grounds surrounding the castle. There are clean and newish looking restrooms in the courtyard. Flush toilets.
