点评:After several moves and a lengthy career with the RCMP Walter and Cristine Makepeace settled in the stunning Similkameen valley. They purchased an organic apple and peach orchard near Cawston in 2005 and after 9 years of hard work transformed it into the family owned Hugging Tree Winery.
Son and winemaker Bradley (inspired by his time as a bartender in fine dining restaurants in Whistler) pursued his dream of wine making via Okanagan College Viticulture and Winemaking program to create the small lot craft wines many enjoy.
Roll forward to 2019, the family decided to sell the previous lot for 2 beautiful small lots which feature warmer micro-terroirs that could offer a broader portfolio. Bordelaise varietals, Viognier and Syrah are the focus.
Quaint country side atmosphere with an incredible valley and mountain backdrop and delicious wines really make this a Similkameen gem!
Great to speak with Bradley and see his passion for wine and giving guests an authentic experience! 😎🍷🥂🍇⛰
