Hard but fun morning out on Madeiran roads

点评：I was looking to hire a bike to ride on a holiday in Madeira, but came across Madeira Cycling who could organise a guided trip. Marcelo responded very quickly once I contacted him and we had soon arranged a tour and bike hire. Marcelo was very good pre-visit, checking bike size and pedals to make sure it was set up for me.
On the day, Marcelo arrived at my hotel with the bike and helmet and we set off. He took me on a lovely route along the south of Madeira with some stiff climbing along the way. Glorious views over the sea and hillsides as we wound our way upwards. A hard climb to the coffee stop, but livened with Marcelo’s knowledgeable commentary on the island and scenery.
The return to Funchal went via some more gorgeous spots for extra scenic delights.
Marcelo was excellent with communication to ensure everything was ready for the day, and tailored the ride to suit. I’d recommend him as a cycle guide, and look forward to another trip next time I’m in Madeira.
