点评：This is shameful exploitation of wild animals by those who know better than to encourage food dependency on humans, and in an unatural situation and manner which is nothing short of baiting. The four seals seen inside the harbour today were clearly untroubled by human presence and were eager to receive the food offered, coming back seeking more repeatedly.
Gulls in most seaside locations have shown the consequences of food made readily available through mindless human behaviour. Large aggressive and harassing seabirds are one thing but seals are a different thing altogether. They are significantly sized marine carnivores, bigger than a large dog, very strong, hunt prey, and will bite. Watching the four of them scrounging round the boats and craft in the harbour is fore warning of much bigger problems to come than greedy gulls with a taste for chips.
Can't understand why the local authorities permit this practice when it so clearly goes against the grain of all best practice in wildlife protection.
