We spent 10 unforgettable days exploring Japan by campervan, and we can honestly say: it was one of the best travel experiences we've ever had! Renting through Japan Campers in Tokyo was smooth, friendly, and efficient from start to finish.
The camper was compact but super functional — perfect for navigating narrow mountain roads, cozying up at roadside rest stops (Michi-no-Eki ❤️), and parking even in the middle of nature. Everything we needed was included: cooking gear, bedding, a fridge, and more. It was clean, reliable, and comfortable, even after long driving days.
Their Japan Campers app was incredibly helpful. It lists wild camping spots, campgrounds, onsen, sightseeing tips and so much more — all with GPS coordinates, so navigation is a breeze. No more guessing or getting lost!
Also a big plus: communication via WhatsApp is quick and easy. They reply fast — even outside office hours — which gave us peace of mind whenever we had a question on the road.
Another great feature is their guesthouse, where we could relax the first night after arriving in Japan — ideal when you're jetlagged and not ready to hit the road just yet. And the service didn’t stop there: they picked us up from the airport, and after we returned the camper, they dropped us off at the train station. Super convenient and much appreciated!
