Stunning location, pretty village. £25 day pass not worth it, Wookey Hole caves are much better.

点评：Having visited Wookey Hole last year and driven through Cheddar Gorge, we were really looking forward to visiting for the day. The village is pretty but very commercialised. The same Cave Aged Cheddar Cheese is available for half the price out of the village. The public toilets were nothing short of a disgrace; filthy and unmaintained.
We paid our £25 each for a day pass and set off up Jacob's Ladder for the 3 mile cliff walk. We are all experienced walkers and were suitably shod and equipped. The cliff path has spectacular 360 degree views and was quite simply stunning, however we were alarmed to see so many people slithering around, completely unprepared for the treacherous conditions underfoot. We witnessed several falls. Perhaps the need for suitable equipment and reasonable levels of fitness should be made much clearer at the beginning of the path near Jacob's Ladder? The three mile walk was brilliant, but (in hindsight) we could have done it the opposite way around without paying a penny.
The caves were a big reason for our visit. The smaller cave was fun but nothing outstanding. Goughs cave was spoilt by Christmas tat and a half built winter wonderland type scene. Fleece "snow" and reindeer aplenty. Not for us at all. St Pauls was thankfully free of all the commercial tat and definitely worth seeing.
We would have much preferred a guided cave walk - I really didn't like wandering around with an electronic device glued to my ear like a mobile phone.
We had a lovely day out in a beautiful location with good friends. But I wish we had kept our entry fee and just enjoyed the scenery. Wookey Hole is a far, far better day out for the same money

洞穴是我们此行的主要目的。小洞穴挺有意思，但也没什么特别之处。高夫洞穴（Goughs Cave）里到处都是圣诞装饰品，还有一个半成品的冬季仙境场景，到处都是羊毛“雪”和驯鹿，完全不符合我们的口味。幸好圣保罗洞穴（St Pauls Cave）没有这些商业化的装饰品，绝对值得一看。
我们更希望参加导览洞穴之旅——我实在不喜欢像个手机一样，耳朵上贴着电子设备到处乱逛。
我们和好朋友在风景优美的地方度过了愉快的一天。但我真希望我们当时没付门票，只是好好欣赏一下风景。花同样的钱，伍基洞（Wookey Hole）绝对是更好的选择。
