A Memorable Day with a Wonderful Guide

点评：Traveling on a national holiday (Fiesta de San Juan, or Sant Joan) celebrating the summer solstice, we met Anna at the Dali Museum in Figueres. There, the artwork is, by design, presented with little explanation. She deftly guided us, providing deep background context which significantly elevated my appreciation for the artist and his seminal museum space.
From there, Anna drove us to the ancient city of Girona. After a lunch of small plates including fresh fish and savory olives, we braved the heat, walking mesmerizing cobblestone streets built by the Romans 2000 years ago as part of the “all roads lead to Rome” network. Anna guided us along the river, through the old town with its narrow passageways and photo-inspiring iron work while personalizing the experience with colorful details and stories. We made sure to stop at a variety of craft and specialty food shops before boarding the train back to Barcelona.
Anna shared her extensive knowledge of the local culture, physical details, and history, combined with a captivating personal perspective. She earned our admiration and highest recommendation.
