5* - An Amazing Night Out at Watatunga Wildlife Reserve in collaboration with the Norfolk Cheese Company

点评：On 23rd July 2026, we attended, for the first time, the Watatunga Wildlife Reserve (Watlington, near King’s Lynn). It was a themed ‘Cheese and Wine tasting’ night, in collaboration with the Norfolk Cheese Company, based in Downham Market and what an experience it turned out to be !
Anyone staying in Norfolk for a holiday or living locally, really must make time to go. We were genuinely blown away by the highly experienced reserve staff, whose knowledge and passion shone throughout the safari. There were lots of photo opportunities and so many unusual animals to see. We spotted a silver pheasant, a crane, several deer species, antelope, wildebeest, a common eland and a wonderful variety of birds. The tour around the reserve lasted just over an hour and was fascinating from start to finish.
After the safari, we arrived beside one of the large lakes under an open-sided tent, where the Norfolk Cheese Company greeted us with the most fabulous display of beautifully arranged cheeses. The evening stepped up to another level when each cheese was paired with a tasting glass (or two), from local vineyards including Flint Vineyard Bacchus (white wine), Cobble Hille Pinot Noir (Rose) and the Burn Valley Regent (Red). What a perfect combination !
It was a great collaboration between two outstanding local businesses. We feel very proud to live in an area with such incredible food, wine, wildlife and experiences right on our doorstep.
We’ll definitely be visiting the Norfolk Cheese Company in the next few days to buy some of the cheeses and wines. Our only small suggestion would be to offer the cheese and wine for purchase on the night as we would absolutely have stocked up!!

野生动物观赏之旅结束后，我们来到一座大湖旁，那里搭着一座开放式帐篷。诺福克奶酪公司在此为我们呈现了一场精心布置的奶酪展示，实在令人赞叹不已。当晚的体验更上一层楼——每种奶酪都搭配了来自本地酒庄的葡萄酒来品鉴：弗林特葡萄园的巴克斯白葡萄酒、科布尔希尔的黑皮诺桃红葡萄酒，还有伯恩谷产区的雷金特红葡萄酒。这搭配简直完美极了！
这是两家杰出的本地企业之间的精彩合作。能生活在这样一个拥有绝佳美食、美酒、野生动植物以及各种独特体验的地方，我们感到无比自豪。我们肯定会在接下来几天里去诺福克奶酪公司，购买一些奶酪和葡萄酒。我们唯一的小建议就是：当晚也提供奶酪和葡萄酒出售，那样我们肯定会大量购置的！！
