Day trip to Balmoral Castle.

点评：Great idea to download Balmoral app before visiting.We booked tickets for general admission at 10 and advised to be there 9.45. Young man on gates,looked very bored,didnt engage well with most if the tourists and although everyone was hanging about,he didnt look remotely interested in scanning tickets until last minute when large numbers just wanted to charge through the gates! We understand its a Sunday morning and lots of tourists. Another young man ( tourist )turned up in kilt and very well dressed. Everyone wanted to approach him for guidance until he got fed up saying he wasnt staff!
The option of the longer inside tour were shown small envelope and rushed through gate at 10am. Really thought it would be a bit more professionally done. Mmm. We are scottish and didn't leave a lasting impression with us.
The tour itself is great,well signposted,landmarks clearly signposted to lead you around gardens ,grounds and into ballroom with fantastic stories,plaques and photos with the royal family. Well worth a visit and lovely restaurant with great selection of foods and drinks. Lovely Balmoral blend tea that you can purchase in gift shop alongside other branded items.
