Elegant building but not such an elegant entry cost if you do not live in York
约克大教堂的点评
点评：York Minister is a wonderful historical building and attracts millions of visitors every year so while my husband and I were happy to pay £20 to be able to go inside (residents of York enter for free) we did feel the charge of £1 to light a small candle slightly excessive. The only way to pay for the candle was by scanning a code and using PayPal.
I found the catacombs very interesting and obviously the cathedrals stain glass windows, architecture and impressive organ were all beautiful. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. If you love historical buildings and are happy to pay £20 to visit you will not be disappointed However I do feel the entry fee should be reduced for OAP’s, students etc and that there could be concessions for families or those on state benefits. The static entry free may prohibit many who would love to admire this magnificent building but due to circumstances they may not be able to justify the cost and I feel that is quite sad.
