A glimpse of recent History in a former Royal Household - A True Gem for the North of England
哈伍德庄园的点评
点评：First time to Harewood house for over half a century, I first visited as a child and don't recall much from that time, but this revisit with close friends rekindled a few memories.
Very easy to book online, saving money at the gate and ensured a speedy admission, with just a quick verifiaction of the QR codes we had received. Parking was included with the admission, of which their were plenty of spaces.
As soon as we'd parked up we were met by a thre friendly shuttle service driver, twho informed us we he could ferry us from the car park to the Main House, The on Site Church , The lake , Himalayan Gardens as well as an other spots i cant remember.
We visited all of the above , each of which was truly impressive, especially the main House. Through out the House their were guides, who were very well informed and answered all questions with enthusiasm and a friendly tone, a credit indeed to the Harewood Trust,
Personally I was intrigued to discover the Royal connection with Princess Marry, ( The sister of king George IV , hence our late Queen Elizabeth II Aunt ).
The fact she resided here since her marriage to the sixth earl, until her death in 1965 , was truly remarkable , and due to this marriage, many Royals had been Guests at Harewood house, the latest I believe was Prince William and Harry at the time the Tour de France began in Yorkshire, although they weren't able to see their Great Great Aunt they were able to meet their cousins.
The Grand Hall, The Library, The Living Rooms and Bedrooms were perfectly presented in their original state, displaying magificent Art Work Chippendale furniture, Wedgewood crockery amongst other gems.
Well worth a Visit and Kudos to the Lascelle Family for opening Harewood house up to the Public.

我个人非常感兴趣的是，这里与玛丽公主（乔治四世国王的妹妹，也就是我们已故的伊丽莎白二世女王的姑姑）有着皇室渊源。
她自嫁给第六代伯爵以来一直居住于此，直至1965年去世，这真是令人惊叹。也正因为这桩婚姻，许多皇室成员都曾是哈伍德庄园的座上宾。我记得最近一次是威廉王子和哈里王子，当时环法自行车赛从约克郡发车。虽然他们没能见到他们的曾祖姑姑，但却见到了他们的堂兄弟姐妹。
大厅、图书馆、起居室和卧室都完美地保留了原貌，陈列着精美的艺术品、奇彭代尔家具、韦奇伍德瓷器以及其他珍宝。
非常值得一游，感谢拉斯塞尔家族向公众开放哈伍德故居。
