点评:This charming , historical fishing village, lies at the east end of Aberdeen Beach Boulevard, beside the north entrance to the city harbour.
It’s usually fairly easy to get a free parking space along the Esplanade , and then walk from there along to Footdee.
The picturesque stone cottages were designed circa 1809 by architect John Smith, to chiefly house local fisherman.
Enjoy wandering through the communal squares, and admiring the bohemian “tarry sheds”, which are all unique, and decorated quirkily by their owners.
Lovingly attended colourful little gardens & pot plant displays are dotted everywhere - amongst statues, ornaments & maritime paraphernalia.
It’s also a fabulous place to watch the harbour vessels - with close up viewing from Pocra Quay & Footdee Beach.
Plenty of choice of refreshments from the many food & drink vans along the esplanade, and public toilets.
