点评：Since no other company currently offers day tours to Pyramiden, I ended up booking with Grumant — and what can I say? Everything went smoothly from start to finish. From the initial contact and communication to the booking process and the tour itself, everything was perfect.
Booking manager Simon, guide Varvara, the local guide in Pyramiden (unfortunately I forgot her name), and Captain Dmitry were all incredibly reliable and trustworthy. The guides in particular were not only knowledgeable but also warm, engaging, and great with people.
Pyramiden is an absolute must when visiting Svalbard — such a unique and surreal place. It truly feels like stepping back into the USSR!
My tour was actually on a boat they don’t advertise online! While the website only shows dates for the open RIB boat, I went on a closed boat — a former research vessel called Barentsburg. It has a small indoor sitting area around a table and plenty of deck space to stay outside if the weather allows. It’s surprisingly cozy and comfortable. It only takes 9 passengers and it´s nice to travel in such a small group.
So if you're interested in visiting Pyramiden but don’t see any available dates online, just send them a message. There might be a tour planned with the Barentsburg, and they’ll also let you know if a spot opens up later.
On the way to Pyramiden, we stopped to admire the stunning Nordenskjöld Glacier, and on the return journey we entered Skansbukta — a beautiful bay with dramatic mountain scenery and a shipwreck on the shore.
Unlike the RIB tour, you can’t go ashore at Skansbukta with the Barentsburg vessel, but that didn’t feel like a big downside. The views from the deck were impressive enough and offered a fantastic perspective of the landscape.
