点评：Perhaps we should pause and put things in perspective,
For every club has problems — that’s simply how things are.
No course is ever perfect,
And no fairway stays unchanged
Beneath the seasons, skies and stars.
I’ve been a member for many years,
And there’s something I have come to know:
A golf course is a living thing,
It changes with the seasons,
And with each year it grows.
And here, among the woodland,
The wildlife plays its part;
A fallen branch, a damaged green,
A little work to mend and heal —
It’s nature’s changing art.
But look beyond the imperfections,
And see what’s waiting there:
Two courses for the members,
And tee times you can always find,
With plenty of golf to share.
There’s a welcoming community,
Competitions through the year,
Friends to meet and games to play,
And always someone there to greet you
With a smile and a friendly cheer.
The Ladies’ section is renowned
As one of the County’s best,
And our Seniors have a reputation
That stands alongside the rest.
There’s good food and good drink too,
At prices that remain fair,
A place to sit and share a laugh,
And talk about the round you’ve played
With friends who understand and care.
The driving range is there for practice —
Though perhaps, between you and me,
A few new balls would not go amiss
To help us find that perfect swing
And chase that elusive three.
And then there’s our professional,
Always willing to lend a hand,
With advice, encouragement and knowledge
To help us understand our game
And hopefully play it as planned.
But if you really want to discover
What makes this place unique and true,
Go into the Pro Shop and ask
If a member might take you round
The Castle course with you.
For that’s when you may begin to see
What makes Cainhoe Wood so dear —
Not just the course, but all it offers,
The people, the friendship,
And the atmosphere you find here.
And there may even be a welcome
For those who’ve come to join the fold:
A discount on your first year,
With no joining fee to pay,
And no waiting list to behold.
So yes, there are imperfections —
There always will be, wherever we play.
But sometimes we should step back,
