点评:We signed up with Ana for a private cooking class while in Coimbra. This is our second opportunity to work with Ana, which was truly a blessed opportunity. Preparing truly authentic Portuguese food was something we wanted to learn.
After meeting up with Ana, we shopped for groceries to prepare this meal. I appreciated being included in the shopping experience as it allowed is to learn precisely which ingredients worked best for our planned menu.
Starters: Grilled pork sausage with traditional bread;
Main course: "Feijoada à Portuguesa com arroz Branco" (typical stewed beans served with white rice);
Dessert: "Bolo Imperatriz" (Empress Cake);
Wines: Bairrada DOC
She also helped us choose the right wine for each course. Then we headed back to our Airbnb to prepare the meal in our kitchen. We learned new techniques as well as a dynamic food history lesson during the preparation.
Every course was perfection. A home cooked meal that even I can replicate when I get home.
After cleanup we went for a short walk to help our food digest where we got more historical stories about the nearby university.
Ana is a wealth of knowledge and a joy to be around. This was the best day ever. If you can get a booking with her, DO IT! You will not regret it. We’ll definitely be back for other experiences.
