However, after crossing the border and arriving on the Laos side at around 8:30am, we were then told our bus would not leave until 5:00pm. This meant waiting at the border for more than 8 hours with no prior warning or communication.
The problems continued after departure. Both the original and updated itineraries stated the bus journey to Luang Prabang would take around 13 hours, meaning we expected to arrive around 6:00am. Instead, the journey took approximately 17 hours, despite there being no major delays, breakdowns, or traffic issues.
In total, the trip took far longer than advertised, and the constant schedule changes and inaccurate information caused significant inconvenience and extra costs for us, including losing hotel breakfast we had already paid for.
After the journey, I contacted the company directly to raise these concerns and request partial compensation due to the misleading itinerary and excessive delays. Unfortunately, they showed little interest in resolving the issue and refused to offer any meaningful solution. Once payment had been taken, customer service was extremely disappointing.
Overall, the experience felt poorly organised, misleading, and handled unprofessionally.
