My Honest Experience in Sacred Kamakhya Temple 🛕

点评：Last summer, I visited the sacred Kamakhya Temple with my mother. It took us around 30 minutes to reach the temple from Guwahati. As one of the most revered Shakti Peethas in India, my mother specially had been looking forward to this visit for a long time.
But honestly, the first impression after visiting the temple was not so good. Yes, the peace and spiritual energy are there. But, it has been becoming more like a business. At several points, it felt as though many services revolved around money rather than true devotion. Additionally, most people there were not at all kind. Moreover, to reach the main temple and to have the darshan of Ma Kamakhya, you need to buy a VIP ticket of around ₹500. Now, you say, “Is it acceptable in such a holy place?”
Then, it comes the management. During our visit, goats were freely roaming around the temple premises. They are innocent and don’t know the civic code. Although they are harmless animals, their presence in crowded areas created inconvenience for both devotees and the animals themselves. There were people, who were cleaning the area but because of poor management, it didn’t remain clean.
We had to wait for 30 minutes there. Then somehow, we managed to have the darshan far from as we didn’t have the VIP tickets. I must say that the place has its own energy and Ma bless you when you pray from the pure soul. So, based on the temple’s history, religious importance, and sacred atmosphere, it is a must-visit destination for devotees and travelers alike in Assam.
Saying that, I sincerely request the Govt. of Assam and the Govt. of India to keep the holiness of this ancient historical place. I genuinely want them to continue working to improve visitor facilities, cleanliness, crowd control, and transparency. Please, stop the business going on there in the name of religion and spirituality.
