A Superb Day Visiting Chateaus in Bordeaux

点评：Arranging wine tasting in California is a bit different than in France! Our small group thought we should make the appointments online with the chateaus and hire a driver. We learned we did this backward and caused ourselves unnecessary work. So we contacted Aquitaine Limousine (which I later learned was part of Bacchus Tours). In any case, Catherine Caquelot came to our rescue and ensured we had a perfect day visiting the 2 Chateaus we originally made appointments with (Lagrange and Bechevelle). Catherine also arranged a third chateau visit to Phelan Segur plus an exceptional lunch at Le Saint Julien. Our driver/guide for the day was Hugo, who was very informative and personable.
Lesson learned! I should have contacted Bacchus /Aquitaine Limousines from the beginning (make these arrangements EARLY) and allowed Bacchus to arrange the Château visits, as they have relationships with all of the Châteaux. In fact, they could have directed us to Châteaux we knew little about. Well, that's another reason to return to Bordeaux! But do yourself a favor and allow Bacchus/Aquitaine to make the arrangements.
Again, our group was so pleased with our driver/guide Hugo. He accompanied us to our tastings/tours at the Chateaus. It was obvious the people leading our tours knew him and respected his knowledge and wine expertise.
Our visits to the Chateaus was the highlight of our trip! Thank you
