Lovely gardens with spectacular countryside views. Great playground.

点评：I visited with my 8 year old as I heard it had a good playground… it didn’t disappoint!
The location is very rural so you need a car to get there. There are lots of parking space and if you buy tickets to enter the castle grounds or spend more than £5 in the cafe, it’s free to park. If not, the charge was a reasonable £3 or so for the day.
There is an exhibition that shows you what the castle used to be like, with some bits and prices on display. We skipped this as we were keen to get to the playground.
The castle itself is in ruins but still interesting to explore. The gardens are vast, with plenty to see. There are quite a few rugged steps and there’s an uphill incline as you move away from the castle towards the playground. I saw a few strollers and a wheelchair- the paths are fine for them but you can’t take some of the shortcuts that involve steep steps.
The playground is at the far end of the estate. It’s a large wooden castle with lots of rooms inside and several slides. There are zip lines and a separate fenced area for toddlers with lots for them to do in there. The cafe by the playground was shut while we were there. There are toilets here as well as at the main entrance.
There are some spectacular views across the countryside from the edges of the grounds which we really enjoyed.
We ate at the main restaurant. The food was on the pricier side for a main meal but very good and the quality was fantastic. They use a lot of local produce which is great to see.
Altogether, a good day out if you enjoy walking round gardens and have kids to use the playground. I would have been a bit bored after a couple of hours if I visited alone.

游乐场位于庄园的尽头。这是一个大型木制城堡，里面有很多房间和几个滑梯。这里还有滑索，以及一个独立的、带围栏的幼儿区，里面有很多适合幼儿玩耍的设施。我们去的时候，游乐场旁的咖啡馆关门了。这里和主入口处都有洗手间。
从庄园边缘可以欣赏到乡村的壮丽景色，我们非常喜欢。
我们在主餐厅用餐。主菜价格偏高，但味道非常好，品质也很棒。他们使用了很多当地食材，这一点很棒。
总而言之，如果您喜欢在花园里散步，并且带着孩子去游乐场玩耍，那么这里是个不错的选择。如果我一个人来，几个小时后可能会觉得有点无聊。
