点评：DO: Stay here. The house is a moment in time, and the onsite staff are wonderful. We stayed in the John Morse room the first night and the Bridget Sullivan room on the second. For each room, the shared bathroom is only a few steps from the door. Even in an “emergency,” you’ll have time to get there.
DON’T: Bother with the breakfast at $20 a person. Other than the convenience of having the meal in the house, it’s nothing special. There are nearby options that cost less and taste better.
DO: Book the Victorian Murder History Dinner! It was the highlight of our stay in Fall River. Between courses, two of the actors (playing Emma and Lizzie Borden) join guests to explain exactly what happened on that fateful day, while a third serves as the house maid. Each night’s performance is improvised, entertaining, and educational. It’s dinner and a show!
DON’T: Expect the remote reservations team to know much about the house. They know very little about the parking situation, where bags can be left if you stay for multiple nights, or about Fall River itself. It is what it is. Just rely on the onsite staff instead.
DO: Book the house tour. Our guide, Larry, brimmed with enthusiasm as he took us from room to room and into the spooky basement. He loves what he does and made old facts sound new again. Highly recommended.
And did we have an inexplicable “ghostly” experience during our stay? One of us did, but that will have to wait for another day...
