点评:At the entrance there is a nature center - closed currently on Mon and Tues. But there are flush toilets at the Nature center boardwalk open all the time, with a view of a small pond. There is pamphlets or a big map of the area/boardwalk/trail for your convenience. There are Porta Poties at the Big Barn area, about the central point of the walking trails. Trails are wood boardwalks or small pea gravel for easy walking and use of strollers. I saw people using adult motorized chairs also. There are plenty of benches spaced out for taking a seat once in a while. The entire boardwalk through the Tidal area has boards with different bird images and information. We were here the first week of March and saw just about every bird that was on the info boards. You can also see a nice view of Mt Rainier if it isn't rainy and cloudy. We walked approx. 4 miles and had a great time. We will return, it was a great outdoor adventure.
TIP: This is a tidal area; so the large boardwalk that snakes through the tidal waters has different birds depending on the tide level.
We took our own sandwiches for lunch and ate in the car, or we would have to walk another 1/4 mile back to the Big Barn area where there was 4 picnic tables and Porta potties.
Board walk has fencing that makes walking for small children very safe.
