点评:I don’t normally leave reviews. Good or bad, I usually have better things to do with my time. So when I say I felt compelled to write this because of what I saw with the animals at Wild Adventures, understand how completely out of character this is for me.
I am not some extreme animal rights activist. I understand animals in zoos rest during the heat of the day and stay in the shade to regulate their temperature. I’ve seen healthy zoo environments before. This was not that. What I witnessed there was one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen.
These animals looked miserable, exhausted, dehydrated, and completely defeated. Many of the cages were shockingly small, with little to no shade in the brutal Georgia heat. Some animals had visible wounds that looked untreated and close to festering. Several looked thirsty and overheated. Many were confined to enclosures far too small for them. There was obvious neglect everywhere. Overgrown vines, broken-down surroundings, lack of enrichment for the animals, and a complete absence of the care you see at reputable zoos.
I have never looked at an animal and genuinely felt sadness coming from it until this place. These animals seemed beyond sad, they seemed hopeless.
God gave us a responsibility to care for animals, not imprison them in conditions like this. What is happening at Wild Adventures feels cruel and inhumane, and I cannot stay quiet after seeing it with my own eyes.
Something needs to be done.
