Ailsa is stunning. Probably the best i've played in the UK.
Trump Turnberry Golf Courses的点评
点评：A Golf Pairs weekend trip meant we were able to play both the King Robert the Bruce and Ailsa courses for a very reasonable price. It was well worth it, despite the 40mph winds and hail that assaulted us at times on the course.
The King Robert the Bruce is a lesser course, but would still be better than 90% of other courses in the UK. The work they have done around the turn really adds value to the course and holes 8-11 are all littered with stunning views.
The Aisla course however is the real jewel in the crown. It starts a little underwhelming but from holes 4-11 you are treated to some of the best views and hole designs i've played. Even as you turn back you are treated to some great holes. 16 for example is an excellent balance between risk and reward.
The one minor negative I would say is that we booked caddies for both days. One of the caddies was going out for the first time and had not even walked/played the courses before. This meant he was effectively a glorified buggy carrying the bags for both days. I do think a course like this, offering a caddy service, should send the newer caddies out with an experienced one prior to undertaking any duties. Their golfing ability does not matter, but the ability to steer you clear of any unforeseen danger and give you a good yardage factoring in the wind, and telling you where a good miss is are important. Thankfully the other caddies were able to offer assistance but at £85 + min. £25 tip it felt a lot for his contribution. He was a nice enough guy though and hopefully he learns and becomes good at it.
