点评:Mozartplatz, formerly known as Michaelsplatz, is a square in the historic centre of Altstadt in Salzburg. We were here for a 8N trip and the Local Guide help much to explain the history & development of the City. It was early Dec and there's a smaller Xmas Market setup. Almost blocking (in the centre of the square) the statue in memory of the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who was born in the city and after whom the square is now named.
On this stately baroque square, Mozart is literally and metaphorically put on a pedestal. . On one it's side is the Salzburg Museum, and Salzburg’s main tourist office is located on the square But attention are on the light-yellow bldg 'immortalised by Mozart. Still the hustling and aroma of the strong hot-wine
brings out the Festive Period within the small Square.
We did not stay long, as we then moved on to the Old Town Centre across th Salzach River..
