Maui Must See - Gorgeous Jaw-Dropping Scenery & Easy, Short Trails!

点评：We felt this park had the most beautiful, jaw-dropping scenery on Maui. The entire area looks like a scene straight out of Jurassic Park or King Kong - it was so green and lush. We explored a lot of places on the island, and this was hands down the most beautiful area we visited (number 2 is probably the Pipiwai Trail at the end of Road to Hana).
The whole experience was very easy. We made our reservations online a few days beforehand, which made parking a breeze. We actually loved this park so much that we went twice! The first time was around 8:00 AM and I had planned that visit ahead of time, and the second time was in the late afternoon on our way from Lahaina to the airport (we were with friends and we wanted them to see the park before leaving the island so we booked tickets a few hours before driving that way). It wasn’t too busy either time, and it makes for a perfect, quick final activity while you are waiting for a flight.
Note: These are not long hikes, so expect to spend about an hour here just walking around and taking it all in. The main walk up the stairs to view the famous Needle is a little steep, but it's short. Our group's three kids (ages 6 to 10) handled it with absolutely no problems. We also explored the beautiful botanical garden area and we took a dirt path down to the creek.
There are restrooms/port-a-potties available at the parking lot area.
Whether you want a quick 45-minute stop to stretch your legs before heading to the airport or a peaceful morning walk while visiting the island, I highly recommend this hidden gem. It’s fast, family-friendly, and visually unforgettable!
