Extraordinary Malta war room tunnels

点评：My wife and I recently had a 26-day trip in Europe and Asia. The highlight of our tour was the visit to the Malta at War Museum. There are four exhibits in the museum, but the most entertaining and best presented was the War H.Q. Tunnels.
Pierina was our guide through this amazing journey. Her exceptional subject matter knowledge and delivery were amazing. The museum is fortunate to have such a talented employee.
To give perspective:
My wife’s uncle was a Malta based Spitfire pilot who went MIA on a mission in World War Two.
My father was bomber pilot in World War Two, was shot down and spent time in Stalag Luft III working on the “Harry” tunnel.
We have a natural interest and some knowledge of the subject matter.
The tunnel complex was clean and well maintained , like most displays, there was evidence that contributions could further enhance the artifact collection/restoration of some areas. We made a small contribution to help.
Pierina’s delivery allowed us to learn some of the humorous personal details of the heroes who worked in the complex, whilst allowing time for question and answer sessions. Ask about lipstick.
We urge anyone who visits Malta to take this tour and name request Pierina. You will not be disappointed.
